About Tinahely Riding Club
We would firstly like to welcome all new members to The Tinahely Riding Club. This leaflet aims to outline our resources and detail how our members can avail of these resources. Our facilities and club members are developing every year, so our policies and systems in place are constantly adapting to ensure we maximise the benefit for each member.
Tinahely Riding Club was established in 1979 and is very fortunate to be one of very few clubs across Ireland to own its own grounds. The current membership stands at approximately 60 with an option to join both the club and the southeast region of the Association Of Irish Riding Clubs, or just the club itself. Tinahely members are very active within the competitive fields of AIRC, showing, show jumping and eventing.
The club hosts competitions such as Hunter Trials, Show Jumping, One day Events and Mini Midi Maxi competitions. The club also organises many training events with numerous qualified and established trainers from the three disciplines dressage, show jumping and cross-country. We have also hosted many events for charities and raised much needed funds for organisations such “The Irish Cancer Society”. Furthermore, the club grounds are available for hire to organisations. The Shillelagh Pony Club and the Shillelagh Hunt avail of the grounds regularly.
This is a club run by its members so every member is expected to contribute throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to meet new people with similar interests.
