Managing defects on large and complex construction projects, can involve more than 500 personnel doing rectification work during the construction. It is expensive, time consuming and can create quality control issues for the overall client. Zutec is a proven solution to compare the performance of the defect detection team.  A recent project revealed a rate of detection between some individual varied as much a 200% by using Zutec.

Project

• International Airport, a large International Construction business used Zutec On-Site tools to support their QA/QC Inspection teams.

Process

• Nearly 200 QA/QC inspectors were trained and equipped with more than 120 Android tablets running the Zutec mobile app’s.
• Our Zutec On-Site tools were used daily by these inspectors to record and photograph punch and snagging issues with other Project team members.

Outcome

• During a 12 month period over half a million punch items were captured, validated and closed using a combination of our Mobile, Desktop and Server products. It was also important that our tools followed the customers exiting and approved QA/QC process/procedures to maintain compliancy.
• The Zutec output reports also provided the Contractor and Project team members with valuable Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to target this punch/snagging clearance. It would have been impractical to support this work using conventional tools within the given time scales.
