For many years building contractors and associated business have found car rallying a suitable platform for cementing client relationships. One of the most successful of these partnerships started in 1974 when John Andrews wanted to celebrate success of his Andrews Heat for Hire business supplying portable Heaters to the construction trade. Up and coming rally driver Russell Brookes was approached and this started a successful 17 year relationship which was fundamental to Andrews development plans.
One of the cars used by the Andrews team for Brooks to drive was the iconic Lotus Sunbeam now owned by Zutec Technologies UK director John Leahy and he in turn is promoting Zutec by offering the car to Brookes to drive in promotional events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed and also to young Irish charger Owen Murphy. Murphy has been competing in the RAC Historic Rally Championship and created quite a stir by finishing 5th overall in the prestigious Roger Albert Clark Rally.
